Cash Flow Report

The Cash Flow Statement shows  how changes in balance sheet and income accounts affect cash and cash equivalents, and breaks the analysis down to Operating, Investing, and Financing activities. The cash flow report should have been configured at System->Configuration->Cash Flow Settings.

The Cash Flow Statement is useful in determining the short-term viability of a company, particularly its ability to pay bills.

How to view the cash flow report

To view the cash flow report you go to Accounts/Financial Reports/Cash flow report and the following screen will be displayed:

• Cash Flow Reports:  From the drop down box, select the type of cash flow report that is to be produced, e.g., "Direct Cash flow" report.

Note that the types of cash flow reports should have been set at "System/Configuration/Cash Flow settings".

• Print for period:  Select the start and ending period for which the cash flow report is to be generated, e.g., "01/01/2015" as start period and "31/12/2015" as the ending period.
• From Cost Centre:  From the drop down box, select the cost centre from which to generate the report or tick the Check for all option to generate the report for all cost centers.
• Exclude opening balances: Tick this checkbox to exclude the opening balances from the cash flow report. This means that the report will generate figures for the current period only.

Select any other required additional options or use the default selections. For additional information on these options you can refer to Accounting Report Formats.

Click on the OK button to generate the cash flow report that will look as follows:

Click on the Close button to exit. .
